Elementary Remote Learning Day: What Families Need to Know
Our Purpose
The goal of a Remote Learning Day is to maintain continuity of learning, not to introduce new material.
Students will stay engaged in meaningful practice that connects to what they are already learning in class.
What Learning Will Look Like
Remote learning activities are designed to be:
- Simple, familiar, and accessible
- Aligned to grade-level expectations
- Focused on literacy, math, and physical activity
⏱️ Total learning time: Approximately 1.5 hours of structured tasks (varies slightly by grade level).
What to Expect From Teachers
- Clear learning targets and success criteria for each activity
- All assignments shared by 9:00 a.m.
- Teachers available by email from 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. to support students and families
What Student Tasks May Include
📘 Reading
- 20–30 minutes of independent reading
- One short comprehension activity
✏️ Writing
- A brief written response connected to reading or learning topics
➗ Math
- Practice of current unit skills
- Math fact fluency activities
🏃 Physical Activity
- 15–20 minutes of movement or exercise
Internet Access Support
If any assigned activity requires internet access and your child is unable to connect, please contact your child’s teacher so an alternative can be provided.
