Dear Campbell County Public Schools Employees,

I am pleased to announce that Campbell County Public Schools is offering an Employee Assistance Program, or EAP, as a new benefit for all contracted employees.

An EAP provides assistance to you and your household family members by helping provide services for personal, family, and job-related difficulties.  It is completely confidential, voluntary, and free, and you can access the available services at any time without notifying your supervisor.  You can simply call 1-866-216-1996 to begin the process of getting an appointment.  Below are resources for you to  familiarize yourself with the assistance available to you.

Alternate Path to Virginia Licensure: 

ITeach- iTeach is an alternative route to licensure for anyone that has a Bachelor's Degree or Provisional License.

Emergency First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use of Automated External Defibrillator 

• CCPS hosts two Emergency First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use of Automated External Defibrillator Training sessions per year (one in the fall and one in the spring).  Please contact your principal to sign up for one of these training sessions.

  • If you do not attend one of these available training sessions, then you are responsible for meeting this training requirement on your own.

Tuition Reimbursement Directions

In order to request Tuition Assistance, please fill out the “Tuition Assistance Application” in TalentEd/Records in the Available Forms section.

The following guidelines should be followed when requesting the tuition assistance employee benefit.

1. Requests may be for up to $250.00 per semester hour of credit, not to exceed real and documented costs. (See specific rules below.)
2. General tuition assistance may not exceed $1500.00 per employee during each 5 year recertification period or $3000.00 during each 10 year recertification period .
3. Completion of the proper Tuition Assistance Application and granting of approval of assistance is required PRIOR TO CLASS REGISTRATION.
4. Tuition assistance payments will be made only to colleges or universities, not to individuals. Exceptions will be made only for colleges or universities who will not accept our vouchers.
5. Coursework to be used for recertification must conform to the guidelines in “The Virginia Recertification Manual.”

Specific requests for assistance may be made as follows:

Up to $250.00 per semester hour for:

1. Three (3) semester hours not to exceed $250.00 per credit hour during each recertification period, providing that the hours are agreed upon by the advisor and staff member.
2. Up to six (6) semester hours of college credit during the validity period of a certificate for those certificate holders who have these courses noted as a part of their specific recertification plan.
3. Courses required by the school division.
4. Participation in the iTeach Program

CCPS Cultural Competency Training

 As required by Code of Virginia § 22.1-298.7, no later than the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, each school board employee, including teachers, leaders, and other licensed staff, is required to complete cultural competency training or instruction. In addition, effective July 1, 2023, every person seeking initial licensure or renewal of a license shall complete instruction or training in cultural competency.  For more information, read Senate Bill 1196 and House Bill 1904. 

 Campbell County Public Schools will use the Cultural Competency Module created by the VDOE to meet this requirement for licensed staff.
